The project includes the construction of two tunnels - Moss and Carlberg - each more than 2km long, two shorter cut-and-cover sections, a tunnel portal and a new station in Moss with 800m-long platforms and a pedestrian bridge.

The contract, worth NKr 6.3bn ($US 735.8m), is part of Bane Nor’s InterCity infrastructure project.

Due to the difficult ground conditions in the centre of Moss, the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) will be involved in the cut-and-cover work to ensure stability and the safe implementation of the work.

Construction will begin in October and should be completed by May 2025.

“We have developed a well-functioning relationship with Acciona through the tunnel boring sub-project on the Follo Line and with Implenia Norway on the Farriseidet - Porsgrunn project,” says Bane Nor development director, Mr Einar Kilde.”
