The Schmidt Beilhack HB1100S plough is equipped with two 793kW 12-cylinder MAN diesel engines. One provides traction power for the 100km/h vehicle while the other drives the snow clearing equipment.
The machine has a snow clearance width of 6m and the snow thrower can remove up to 10,000 tonnes of snow per hour with a maximum throw of 40m.
The HB1100S can also rotate 180o on its frame, enabling the snow clearance equipment to be turned on the spot.
Following the successful completion of tests, the HB1100S is due to begin snow clearing on the Austrian network this winter.
