BRAZIL’s Federal Court of Auditors has authorised the construction of a people mover to connect Line 13-Jade of the Paulista Metropolitan Trains Company (PCTM) to the terminals of the São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos.

The Reais 271.7m ($US 51.7m) project is planned to resolve issues surrounding public access to the passenger terminals.

The connection will be constructed on 2.7km of elevated line and will have capacity for 2000 passenger per hour in each direction. Construction is expected to take 24 months.

Journeys will take six minutes and the vehicles will be equipped with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and passenger information screens connected to the airport.
