CLF is active in the design, construction, maintenance and modernisation of railway infrastructure and operates in the main line, light rail and metro sectors. In addition to its main domestic market the company has also carried out work in Algeria, Morocco, Bulgaria and Venezuela.

CLF Group subsidiaries and affiliates include Uniferr and Sifel, which are based in Alessandria, and Bologna-based engineering company TES. The company also has a workshop in Reggio Emilia.

The group employs 667 staff and generated turnover of €167m in 2017.

Strukton has held shares in CLF since 1998 and the two companies have been working closely together on mechanisation and digitalisation initiatives.

CLF crews and machines have been successfully employed on several Strukton projects in Denmark and the Netherlands. CLF has been adopting Strukton-powered smart maintenance tools in Italy such as Dual Inventive’s IoT sensors.
