The deal five year deal is worth around €5m per year, with the option to extend it up to 30 years. Efacec says the partnership foresees the provision, on average, of one level crossing system per week. The contract marks the entry of Efacec’s transport unit into Sweden and represents its largest export contract.

Efacec says it will use the contract as a basis to adapt and provide, in accordance with specific requirements of Sweden, its XSafe solution which it says was decisive in winning the tender. XSafe uses commercial-off-the-shelf hardware platforms (Cots) and has already been used extensively on the national network.
