The 15kV 16.7Hz electrified rail network in Sweden is 7868km long, representing about 80% of all lines, and is carrying more traffic than it was originally designed for.
In order to improve reliability, ABB will install more than 400 of its new Relion RER670 intelligent electronic devices (IED) to improve the protection of transmission lines, transformers and catenary. The devices will be installed at around 50 stations across the Swedish rail network.
The multi-functional IEDs incorporate the latest protection, control and measurement and monitoring technology to provide a single solution for transmission lines, transformers and catenary.
