The four-axle Traxx 3 locomotives, which are scheduled for delivery between 2019 and 2021 at the latest, will consist of a mixture of Traxx MS 2 (multi-system), Traxx AC 3 (alternating current) and Traxx DC 3 (direct current) locomotives.
The four-axle locomotives offer an optional last mile function for operation on non-electrified sidings. The Traxx MS is designed to operate on Europe’s four main supply voltages - 15kV and25 kV AC as well as 1.5 and 3kV dc.
When the orders are delivered, Akiem will operate a fleet of 180 Traxx locomotives.
