B Logistics leases 36 locomotives from Railpool

BELGIAN railfreight operator B Logistics has signed a 10-year full-service lease agreement with Railpool for 26 Bombardier Traxx MS multisystem electric locomotives to support its international operations.

"In order to support our international growth strategy, we needed to update our fleet of locomotives, says B Logistics CEO Mr Geert Pauwels. "This long-term partnership enables us to make sure that our fleet will be as reliable as can be and that we can expand our Green Xpress network on a European level."

Formerly known as SNCB Logistics, B Logistics was part-privatised in October when Belgian National Railways (SNCB) sold a 66.6% owned stake in the business to private equity group Argos Soditic following an investment of €70m structured as a capital increase in the company. SNCB remains the minority shareholder.
