Colas Rail’s British fleet comprises 10 class 56 locomotives built by British Rail in the 1980s, together with five EMD class 66s, two EMD class 67s and 17 GE class 70s. the operator also owns several class 37 locomotives built in the 1960s.

In France, Colas Rail operates a fleet of Vossloh G1206 and G2000 locomotives.

The locomotives acquired by Beacon will remain in operation with Colas Rail.

The acquisition significantly expands Beacon's presence in the British market, where it already owns the fleet of class 68 and 88 locomotives used by Direct Rail Services as well as the CAF Mk5A coaches currently being delivered for use by TransPennine Express.
