The second framework comprises multi-system and AC variants, both with power output of 6.4MW and a maximum speed of 200km/h. All 50 locomotives will be equipped with ETCS
The first batch of locomotives ordered under the second contract will be delivered in the second quarter of this year and these multi-system units will be equipped for operation in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Romania.
The framework deal enables ELL to order locomotives for operation in Scandinavia, in addition to the previously ordered variants and also includes options for units with last-mile diesel engines.
All 50 locomotives from the initial framework are now either in service or on order.
