The six-axle locomotives will be equipped to operate on 15kV and 25kV ac electrification systems with a 2.8MW Caterpillar C175-16 diesel engine for operation on non-electrified lines. The locomotives will also be fitted with ETCS and radio remote control.
Assembly will take place at Stadler Valencia’s plant in Albuixech, Spain.
Stadler is currently supplying 10 EuroDual locomotives to ELP under an order announced in mid-2018.
