Hector Rail provided Siemens Taurus locomotives and drivers for the tests, which took place on the Great Belt Bridge between the islands of Zealand and Funen.

As well as being a Danish rail speed record, the run also represents the highest speed ever attained by a conventional locomotive in Scandinavia.

"It is Hector Rail's ambition to constantly take the railway to new levels and this is a good example of how we are realising this ambition," says Hector Rail managing director Mr Mats Nyblom.
