The six-axle ET44AC locomotives will be compliant with US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 emissions standards and equipped with GE’s GoLinc communication and application management platform, Trip Optimizer automated cruise control system, and Locotrol distributed power system.

The locomotives will be built at the GE Manufacturing Solutions plant in Forth Worth, Texas, with deliveries due to begin in early 2019.

Earlier this month GE rolled out the first of an order for 200 Evolution Series locomotives for Canadian National (CN) at Fort Worth.
