The 883kW Co-Co heavy shunting locomotives will be delivered as kits to LG for final assembly at the railway's workshops in Vilnius.

TMH has already delivered 51 TEM TMH locomotives to LG since 2009. The 100km/h units have a starting tractive effort of 346kN, and according to TMH they have reduced fuel consumption by up to 37% for shunting operations and 45% for trip freight working, compared with the older locomotives they have replaced.

Last November TMH and LG signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of establishing a joint venture to assemble locomotives in Lithuania for the Baltic States and other European markets.
