The deal - Stadler’s first rolling stock order in Turkey - includes spare parts and an eight-year full service maintenance agreement.
The Co-Co locomotives will have a maximum output of 2.8MW in diesel mode and 6.15MW in 25kV ac electric operation, with maximum tractive effort of 500kN.
Stadler says the trains will be used to haul fuel trains weighing up to 2000 tonnes.
The locomotives will be assembled at Stadler’s Albuixech plant near Valencia with deliveries due to start by 2021.
Körfez Ulaştirma recently took delivery of five PowerHaul diesel locomotives from Wabtec, which are used to haul oil trains from refineries owned by Tüpraş, the operator’s parent company.
