OC TRANSPO, the urban transit service for Ottawa, Canada, has selected Alstom to supply six new Coradia Lint low-floor dmus for operation the 8km O-Train north-south line between Bayview and Greenboro. The order is worth $C 34m ($US 34.4m) with the trains set to be delivered in 2013.

OC Transpo currently operates three 3-car Bombardier Talent dmus on the line which are built to European standards and have a narrower car body profile than conventional North American rolling stock. Retractable steps are consequently used at stations so passengers can easily reach the trains and freight traffic can continue to use the line.
The Coradia Lint vehicles accommodate up to 260 passengers and once introduced will double capacity on the O-Train which currently serves 2.3 million passengers per year.
