BOMBARDIER has secured a Euros 39 million contract from Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif to deliver its Interflo 200 mainline signalling system for the 90km Albacete - La Encina section of the under construction Madrid - Valencia/Alicante line.
Bombardier will provide computer-based interlocking, equip a local control centre, and supply EBI train detection equipment. It will also upgrade existing systems, equipment and structures.
The Interflo 200 is usually employed on lines where headways are reduced and higher safety levels are required. The project will be delivered in five stages during the next 12 months.
