The Cambodian Ministry of Public Affairs has reportedly signed a deal
with China Railway Group, which will begin a study later this year on
the 255km line from Bat Doeng, north of Phnom Penh, to Loc Ninh, where
it will connect with the Vietnam Railways network. The project will
involve bridging both the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers.
The Cambodian and Vietnamese governments signed an agreement last
November to build the line at an estimated cost of $US 700 million.
