Unlike other contemporary high-speed projects in France, which are
being implemented as public-private partnerships, TGV Est is being
financed conventionally. The total cost of the project is Euros 2
billion, with Euros 680 million coming from the French government,
Euros 532 million from infrastructure manager French Rail Network
(RFF), Euros 236 million from Alsace, and Euros 118 million from the
European Union.
