Under the contract, Auvergne will receive 12 of the trains, dubbed Régiolis by SNCF, while Poitou-Charentes has ordered 10 units. This takes the total number of Régiolis trains ordered to 142, with an initial tranche of 100 emus being ordered in October 2009, followed by a batch of 19 trains last January and a further 23 in March. To date 11 regions have placed orders and these trains will be delivered between 2013 and mid-2015. Production of the first vehicle frame was recently completed at Alstom's Reichshoffen site in eastern France, where the first train will roll off the assembly line in June.
Alstom could eventually supply up to 1000 Régiolis trains under the framework deal signed with SNCF and the French Regions in October 2009.
