"The offer price and fulfilment of EU conditions regarding the
acquisition were decisive criteria for us," DB CEO Mr Rüdiger Grube
said in statement.

arriva-fs.jpgArriva became DB's largest ever acquisition when the Euros 2.8 billion
takeover of the British train and bus operator was agreed earlier this
year. Under European antitrust law, DB was required to sell Arriva's
German subsidiary to a third party.

By acquiring Arriva Germany, FS and Cube have become the country's
third largest regional rail operator with a portfolio including
Vogtlandbahn, Regentalbahn, East Hannover Railway (OHE), and Prignitz
Railway (PEG).

Subject to European Commission regulatory approval, the deal will be concluded in the first quarter of 2011.
