Infrastructure work is due to begin at the end of the year
and the line is due to open at the end of 2012. The project will fill a gap in
the network between Flevoland and the northeast Netherlands, and journey times
between Amsterdam and Zeolle will be cut from around 1hr 15min to 1hr.. Alstom
will install Atlas European Rail Traffic Management System Level 2 signalling system
in addition to the Dutch ATB system.

 

Construction of the line began in 2007 and the forthcoming
work will see around 400km of overhead wiring, 1500 masts and 22km of baffle
boards installed, in addition to the track.
