The 18 LRVs will be manufactured at the Bombardier site in Bautzen, Germany and are scheduled to be delivered between November 2011 and February 2013. The Flexity Classic vehicles are 32m-long and can accommodate up to 176 passengers while providing two multi-purpose areas for wheelchairs, prams and bicycles. Vossloh-Kiepe will furnish the new LRVs with its propulsion technology as well as being responsible for planning, installing and implementing the vehicle's electrical equipment.

The new vehicles will complement the 32 Bombardier low-floor LRVs ordered by KVG between 1999 and 2003, and establishes Bombardier as the Kassel network's sole vehicle supplier.
