being financed jointly by RATP and Ile de France Transport Syndicate

The order is the third and final option in a framework deal signed in
July 2001 for up to 160 trains. The initial tranche of 44 trains for
Line 2 was ordered in July 2006, while a second option for 50 trains
for Line 5 was signed in November 2007. The first train entered
commercial service in June 2008.

The MF01s are gradually replacing MF67 trains, supplied between 1967 and 1978.
