DMRC has already received 460 Movia vehicles. The first 36 cars from
the initial contract were assembled at Bombardier's Görlitz site in
Germany, before production transferred to a new manufacturing facility
in Salvi, Gujarat.
DMRC plans to invest $US 657m in new trains over the next two years to
support both the Phase 3 expansion of the network and the lengthening
of existing six-car trains to eight cars.
