Although Pendolino is designed as a tilting train, PKP Intercity does not require this feature and so the trains will not tilt. The seven-car trains will be able to accommodate 402 passengers, and will have a maximum speed of 250km/h.

The trains will be deployed on routes radiating from Warsaw north to Gdansk and Gdynia and south to Krakow and Katowice. Journey times from Warsaw will be reduced by around 45 minutes to Gdansk and by about 25 minutes to Krakow and Katowice.

The trains will be equipped with ERTMS and the signalling systems needed to operate outside Poland in Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. The trains will also have regenerative braking and will meet the new European noise standard.
