RailCorp is responsible for the commuter rail network in the Sydney area and operates passenger trains throughout New South Wales.
The self-propelled vehicles will be able to conduct a variety of non-contact opto-electronic measurements covering track and overhead line geometry, and rail profile and corrugation. Mermec will also supply its Ramsys decision support tool to help analyse the data.
"The diagnostic vehicle tender specifications were the strictest and most complex we have ever been challenged with," says Mermec's president Mr Vito Pertosa, reflecting RailCorp's commitment to safety.
