Grube succeeds Mr Wolfgang Tölsner, who stepped down in April for personal reasons.

Grube is currently chairman of Hamburg Harbours and Logistics (HHLA) and the German subsidiary of asset management firm Lazard. He was chairman of DB between 2009 and 2017 and a member of the board of DaimlerChrysler between 2001 and 2009.

“We are delighted that Rüdiger Grube will be presiding over the supervisory boards,” says Mr Danny Di Perna, president and CEO of Bombardier Transportation. He has outstanding experience in various branches of industry, particularly in the mobility and industrial sectors, and enjoys the highest esteem. His election also underlines the huge significance of Germany to Bombardier Transportation.”
