Around 180,000 wagons from the RZD fleet will transfer to SFC, which
will refurbish 61,000 vehicles and acquire more than 76,000 new wagons
by 2015 as part of its preliminary investment plan.

The RZD board decided on August 26 to go ahead with the creation of
SFC, which will operate across the Russian rail network handling all
types of freight. RZD owns 100% of the company except one share, which
is held by not-for-profit organisation Zheldorreform. SFC's share of
the Russian railfreight market is expected to reach around 22% by 2015.

Work is now underway to finalise the legal procedures for establishing the new company and launching its operations.
