Three trains a day will operate in each direction instead of two. All trains will stop at Lyon St Exupéry to allow day trips between Lyon, Turin and Milan. The trains will switch stations in Milan from Central to Porta Garibaldi to serve the city's new business district.

All trains used on the service will have been refurbished according to a new design by Christian Lacroix. A new at-seat catering service will be offered in first class, supplemented by a catering trolley staffed by multi-lingual staff circulating throughout the train.

The SNCF-Trenitalia joint operation of overnight services between France and Italy will end on December 10 and will be gradually replaced by new services under the brand name Thello run by Trenitalia and Veolia Transdev, France.
