FRENCH National Railways (SNCF) has launched a new season ticket for all long-distance services including Intercités and TGV InOui high-speed services aimed at passengers who work from home for part of the week.

The “My Annual Telework Package” pass, which will allow the holder to travel up to 250 times a year between Mondays and Thursdays, is aimed at commuters who work from home two or three days a week, or for those who currently travel by car due to the high cost of a full annal pass.

The pass is 40% of a standard annual pass which allows passengers to travel five days a week. For example, the My Annual Telework Package will cost €343 per month for the 430km Lyon - Paris route, compared with €572 per monthfor a full annual pass, and €333 per monthfor the Nantes - Paris route compared with €555 per month for a full pass.

Travel habits are expected to change following the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw a major rise in the number of people working from home during lockdowns. Passengers already travelling on an annual pass can change to the teleworking pass.
