THE United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has opened an international call to undertake two studies on energy efficiency and asset management for the Brazilian metro sector.
The studies will be funded through a $US 1.58m grant under a cooperation agreement signed by USTDA and the National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrilhos) to improve the management of metro networks throughout Brazil.
“Public passenger transport is experiencing a serious crisis around the world,” says ANPTrilhos president, Mr Joubert Flores. “Our cooperation with the USTDA will seek to improve efficiency and reduce costs related to asset and energy management, preparing Brazil’s passenger rail systems for fast recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.”
The studies will involve Brazilian operators which will monitor the progress of the year-long studies. Proposals for the two studies must be submitted by June 18 and July 2, respectively, via http://www.ustda.gov/work/bid-on-an-overseas-project
