AUSTRIAN Federal Railways (ÖBB) has confirmed that it will rebrand Go-Ahead Germany services and activities as Arverio. ÖBB Passenger completed the acquisition of the German subsidiary of Britain's Go-Ahead Group in February.

ÖBB revealed the new name on July 10, confirming that “comprehensive rebranding” will continue across all areas of the company until completion in early 2025.

Arverio operates regional services in southern Germany under five operating contracts, two awarded by Bavarian Railway Company (BEG) and three by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport. ÖBB says that its existing fleets will retain their current blue (Bavaria) and yellow (Baden Württemberg) liveries but incorporate a new Arverio logo.

ÖBB also confirmed that Arverio will remain an independent company focused on southern Germany. “Arverio offers ÖBB the ideal opportunity for market entry and potential growth in southern Germany,” ÖBB said in a statement.

"We are delighted with the development and are happy to work on making the new name known,” says Arverio CEO, Mr Fabian Amini. “We are happy to have ÖBB as a strong partner at our side."
