This includes:

  • the 156km, 250km/h Kazuo - Chifeng line, connecting the Chifeng area of Inner Mongolia with the Beijing - Shenzhen line and reducing journey times between Chifeng and Shenyang from 10 hours to less than three hours
  • the Anshun - Liupanshui line, providing a connection with the Shanghai - Kunming line with 10 pairs daily, and
  • the Qinghai section of the Geku Railway, which connects the Golmud - Korla and Qinghai - Tibet lines.

This is in addition to the opening of the Shanghai - Nantong and Shangqiu - Hefei lines.

China National Railways (CR) has also launched its summer timetable, with additional services to accommodate tourists and students travelling across the network.

The frequency of freight services has also been increased, including services to central Europe.
