All vehicles in the six-car train are powered to give a total output of 22.8MW. CSR has used new lightweight materials such as carbon fibre composites, magnesium alloy, and nanometer sound insulation in the vehicle body. This has reduced the weight of the bodyshell while at the same time improving its rigidity.
The train has taken two years to develop, and CSR has worked in conjunction with China’s Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Railways’ Department of Education and Science, together with the China Academy of Railway Sciences, Beijing Jiaotong University, and the Institute of Mechanics.
