The 350km/h line runs from Hefei City in Anhui province southeast via Maanshan, Wuhu City, and Xuancheng City to Huzhou City where it connects with the Nanjing - Hangzhou high-speed line.
Commissioning and dynamic testing will verify the performance of the track, power supply, overhead contact network, communications, signalling, and monitoring systems to determine that the overall system meets the design requirements. Once this has been completed, trial operation will start in preparation to open line.
The line forms the southern section of the Shangqiu - Hefei - Huzhou high-speed line. The 378km northern section from Shangqiu to Hefei opened on December 1 2019. Construction started on the project in November 2015.
