The 12-month project will look to add around 30km to the 19km network, resulting in a reorganisation of the way the network is operated.

Egis will be in charge of managing the project, along with urban integration, systems and operation, while CID will manage the data collection, traffic studies, geotechnics and engineering aspects.

Egis and CID prepared studies and constructed the initial two-line network, which opened in May 2011.

A 2.4km extension of Line T2 is under construction south from Moulay Youssef Hospital in Akkari to Al Kifah Avenue in Yaâcoub Al Mansour. In Salé, the line is being extended 4.6km from Hassan II to Zarbia Avenue and the new provincial hospital.
