The company says the LRV is designed to run for up to 5km on a single charge. The seven-section bi-directional vehicle will be able to accommodate a maximum of 500 passengers.
The LRV will operate automatically on a line serving Kunming Changshui International Airport.
Driverless maglev
ZELC also plans to unveil a new generation of driverless maglev trains later this year. The trains will have a design speed of 200km/h.
