Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality placed a €42m contract with Bozankaya for the 33m-long standard-gauge bi-directional LRVs in August 2014. The vehicles are being assembled at Bozankaya's plant in Ankara.
Each 100% low-floor five-section vehicle will accommodate up to 392 passengers, 66 of them seated.
Traction motors for the fleet are being supplied by Traktionssysteme Austria.
