The LRV contract calls for vehicles of 39-43m in length together with the provision of associated tools and services for the fleet. The deadline for expressions of interest is September 26.

The total value of the two contracts is expected to be around Zlotys 449m ($US 141.5m) and MPK hopes to finance the investment with the support of up to Zlotys 215m in European Union funding.

Krakow's 85km tram network has 25 routes with 358 stops and carries around 190 million passengers per year. MPK operates a fleet of 74 Bombardier Flexity Classic LRVs, the last of which was delivered in May.
