At 43.83m, the bidirectional vehicles are the longest trams in MPK's fleet and each LRV accommodates up to 313 passengers, 102 of them seated.
The Zlotys 291.2m ($US 50.6m) order was 59%-funded by the European Union through the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013.
The launch of the new vehicles coincided with the opening on August 31 of the new 1.4km Dworcowa - Lipska link. The Zlotys 67.7m project took two years to complete and will reduce journey times on lines 9, 11, and 50 by 5-6 minutes.
