The Meridian and Bavarian Oberland Railway (BOB) brands will be phased out in favour of the Bavarian Regional Rail (BRB) brand. Four new regional names will be used to define the various network sections:

  • Chiemgau - Inntal (formerly Meridian)
  • Oberland (formerly BOB)
  • Ostallgäu - Lechfeld (formerly diesel network Augsburg 1), and
  • Ammersee - Altmühltal (formerly diesel network Augsburg 2).

However, the structure of the BOB and BRB companies will remain unchanged.

“By merging our brands under a single brand name, BRB, we can also create a clearer representation of our size in Bavaria and also grow as a team even more,” says Mr Fabian Amini, CEO of BOB and BRB. “The two companies will stay that way, so nothing will change for our employees.

The new brand will be introduced in stages, starting with the new BOB fleet for the Oberland network from the middle of the year, which will feature the new logo.

Around the same time, the Meridian fleet will be rebranded with the Ostallgäu - Lechfeld and Ammersee - Altmühltal networks changed at the end of the year.

All three companies will also use the www.brb.de website, and social media channels are also being changed.
