The European Union’s (EU) Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) has allocated Levs 120m ($US 67.8m) to finance part of the project.

A consortium of Hungarian company Kelet-ÚT and local firm AB is responsible for implementing the project. Planning will take a year to complete with construction estimated to take three years.
