The French government confirmed in February that it would withdraw all funding for six Lunéa services from July, but would seek the continued operation of these trains on a commercial basis by a third party. Services to be tendered include:

  • Paris Austerlitz - Cerbère
  • Paris Austerlitz - Hendaye (Irun)/Tarbes
  • Paris Austerlitz - St Gervais/Bourg St Maurice
  • Paris Austerlitz - Nice
  • Luxembourg - Nice/Port-Bou, and
  • Strasbourg - Nice/Port-Bou.

An invitation for expressions of interest has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union and the deadline for submission of offers is May 31. The results of the call for expressions of interest and a government decision on the future of these services will be announced on July 1.

SNCF Mobility will continue to operate Paris - Briançon and Paris - Rodez/Latour de Carol Lunéa services with state support.
