The Ahmedabad - Mumbai and the Lucknow - New Delhi Tejas services, which operate six days a week, are targeting frequent business travellers and tourists, and are equipped with modern onboard facilities to ensure a high level of passenger comfort.

The Ahmedabad - Mumbai service has two executive-class coaches with 56 seats each and eight standard class coaches with 78 seats each, all featuring air-conditioning, for a total capacity of 736 passengers. The service leaves Ahmedabad at 06.40, arriving at Mumbai Central at 13.10, with the return service leaving Mumbai at 15.40 and arriving at Ahmedabad at 21.55.

Reservations may be made up to 60 days before departure, with a dynamic fare system reflecting demand.

The service offers onboard passenger information and entertainment. Passengers will be served morning tea, breakfast, snacks, evening high tea and dinner, and IRCTC says it is planning to include regional foods in the menu.

Passengers will be provided with free rail travel insurance covering up to Rs 2.5m ($US 35,120), with fares automatically refunded in the event of cancellations.

IRCTC is also planning to offer a service that will pick up passenger’s luggage from their homes and place it beside their seat onboard the train, before delivery to their final destination after the journey.
