The operator also says revenue has more than doubled this year and should reach Koruna 800m ($US 35.26m), rising to around Koruna 1bn in 2019.

Leo Express is currently operating 18 trains per day in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and reintroduced a weekend service to Krakow in Poland on November 30 which will become daily from June 20. The company also operates the Berlin - Stuttgart FlixTrain service in Germany, as well as long-distance buses.

“The operation was strengthened by the return of one of our Leo Express trains,” says Mr Peter Koehler, CEO of Leo Express. “Repair of this unit was one of the quickest in Europe. The increase in the number of passengers was also due to new train service in Germany and to Krakow in Poland.”

From the December 2019 timetable change, Leo Express will operate regional services on two routes in the Pardubice region following the award of a 10-year concession earlier this month.
