The contract includes maintenance and operation of the Wi-Fi system and will run until August 2024. Nomad Digital expects to complete the Wi-Fi deployment by the end of this year.

The Wi-Fi system is based on Nomad Digital’s latest R5001 router technology platform using its new Nomad Connect software.

The ownership of the trains is divided between several operators and regional organisations. Danish State Railways (DSB) owns 34 trains, Swedish public transport authorities, Skåne, Blekinge and Hallandstrafiken jointly own 53 trains, and Swedish rolling stock leasing company, Transitio owns 24 trains.

“The solution to be rolled out on the Öresund train fleet is based on the technology already in use across DSB’s regional and long-distance fleet operating in Denmark,” says Mr Michael Beckmann from DSB.
