Régionéo will be owned 55% by RATP Dev, a subsidiary of Paris Transport Authority (RATP), and 45% by Getlink. Mr Ronan Bois, executive chairman of RATP Dev, has been named president, while Mr Raphaël Doutrebente, director general of Europorte (Getlink’s rail freight subsidiary), has been appointed director general.

The two companies announced their intention to bid for future French passenger concessions in November 2019.

Régionéo says its initial targets will be contracts to operate TER regional trains in the Grand Est and Hauts-de-France regions - RATP Dev already runs several bus networks in Grand Est while Getlink subsidiary Eurotunnel is a major employer in the Calais area of Hauts-de-France.
