CZECH private operator RegioJet has been granted a licence to operate its own trains in Austria, a move that will enable it to expand its international operations.

RegioJet has previously had to hire staff from Westbahn for trains operating in Austria, with Czech staff on the Prague - Vienna service changing at Breclav. This will cease at the end of March, when RegioJet’s drivers and conductors will continue into Austria.

The license will allow RegioJet to expand its offer in Austria, with plans to operate ski trains from Warsaw to Innsbruck and other ski resorts, which are initially expected to operate twice weekly.
