Work will start before the end of the year and will be completed in 2017. Veidekke Anläggning Öst will carry out the civil works and Eltel will be responsible for the overhead electrification and signalling.
The work is part of a SKr 8bn scheme to increase the capacity of the Roslagsbanan, which serves growing northwestern suburbs of Stockholm, to enable a 10-minute interval service to be introduced. The project includes 22km of track-doubling, expanding stations, buying additional trains and building a new depot. The project is due for completion in 2023.
